The Create Freedom Artivist Fellowship is a 6 week program that is intended to empower young people (18-25 years old) with experience in the foster care system, with incarcerated parents, part of the global majority, LGBTQIA2S+, or with disabilities. This fellowship will allow participants to explore artivism as a means to tell their story to the world and explore topics such as movement building, grassroots organizing, abolition, and more. The program aims to uplift voices that would otherwise be silenced by oppressive systems, to empower participants to engage in their communities, and to provide a space that cultivates resources, fosters curiosity, further exploration of self, community, and the world at large.
Create Freedom Artivist Fellows will be asked to commit to a 6-week learning opportunity, beginning on July 18th, 2023 and ending on August 24th, 2023.
Fellows are asked to complete 6 hours a week (3 hours on Tuesdays will be dedicated to content learning and 3 hours on Thursdays will be dedicated to activism through art).
The program will culminate for joint celebration on August 24th. Each participant will be awarded a stipend of $500, a certificate, and a chance to present their final art project.
This application may take 15 - 20 minutes to complete.
Application Deadline: This application will close on Thursday, June 1st at 11:59 PM PST.
